Is in the same family as the pigeon. The male and female have similar characteristics. Feathers covering the body are green with yellow and purple glossy. The wing edge is black and blue. It has a long hackle, which the female is a little bit shorter than the male, and has a very short tail.
Can be found in Andaman islands, Malaysia, Solomon, Philippines, Thai, and Cambodia. In Thailand, it can be found in the islands in the South, and Andaman area, for example; Surin Islands, Similan Islands.
The food is the plant seed, fruit which fell on the ground
Lives and seeks for the food more on the ground than on the tree. It may seek for the food alone, or in pairs, or in a small troop. It is quite good at flying. It rarely makes noise, and its sound can be heard once in a while.
